This exotic composition celebrates the beauty of the blooming Sakura Tree and the beautiful birds and colorful butterflies that serenade life and inspire the soul. Many interesting techniques of Maki-e have been used in this composition including Taka Maki-e and Raden craft to create contrast and three-dimensional effects. The skill of the Maki-e Shi is evident in the elusive and expert application of inlay of Colored shells, Mother of Pearl and different sized Gold powders and Silver powder to create subtle and bold variations that enliven the senses.
