Aurora produced a special limited edition series, which was chosen as the official pen of the celebrations to mark the 500th Anniversary of the discovery of America, the symbol of man's search for new horizons.

The pen has the Optima shape and is gold plated with a hand-engraved special guilloche pattern. The central strip is skillfully crafted and decorated with a guilloche design by the hands of master goldsmiths, which features the commemorative dates "1492-1992" and the individual LE number. A transparent coffer sealed with wax contain sand from the Island of San Salvador, and three nuggets of gold, to represent Christopher Columbus' Caravels.

This set is all the more precious being part of a limited edition of 1492 creations. Ours is matching number 0609/1492
