On March 20,1992, Omas officially presented the Europa fountain pen in the Auditorium of the International Press Centre in Brussels. This special pen was authorized by the General Secretary of the Commission of European Communities.
The Omas Europa has great symbolic significance because the first 12 pens were presented to the Heads of State who signed the Maastricht Economical Treaty. Members of the press, as well as the RAI, many VIPs, as well as others, were in attendance to record the presentation of the historic pen.
The Omas Europa is a faceted pen composed of blue vegetal resin. It has a 2 tone 18kt nib in a Fine point. It is brand new and vault kept, complete with display case, paperwork and outer box. The outer box is peeling in certain areas due to its age.
