This story begins with a mysterious sea monster who is seen by several nations.  An ocean liner is damaged by this mysterious sea monster.  The U.S. Government assembles a team to find and get rid of this menace.  Among the team is Canadian expert harpooner Ned Land and French Professor Pierre Aronnax a marine biologist.  Aronnax's faithful servant Conceil is also brought aboard.  

After many fruitless searching, they finally find the sea monster and engage it in battle. During the fight the ships steering system is damaged and the three protagonist are thrown off the ship and land on the hide of the monster.  In surprise, they realize the monster is actually a metal construct.  They are quickly captured and are taken inside of the vessel.  It is then that they meet captain Nemo, the engineer and commander of the Vessell.  The submarine is called the Nautilus and the story follows the protagonist on their adventures in the Nautilus.  

After a fierce battle with a gigantic squid, one of the members is devoured.  Towards the end of the story the three protagonist have a chance to flee after the the country,in which Captain Nemo originally fled, has found and attacked the Nautilus. They fate of the Nautilus and its crew is never revealed.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the death of Jules Verne, Ancora has created this wondrous limited edition.  Each magnificent creation features mother of pearl in the body of the barrel with hand-painted scenes, 18k gold nibs, and gold vermeil trim and clip.  

This Ancora Jules Verne Fountain pen comes with its original presentation box and all authentic documents. It has a Medium 18k gold nib, and is a low #06/88.
