- Montblanc Atelier Privé masterpiece with Certificate of Authenticity.
- Made entirely from 750 White Gold!
- 35 certified VVS fine white brilliant cut diamonds totaling 0.34 carats.
- Similar to the Taipei 101, the design is balanced around the lucky number 8.
- Rhodium-plated 18k gold nib.
The Limited Edition Axis Mundi is a tribute to the Asian culture and its creative power, very clearly shown in the illustrious Taipei 101 Skyscraper which towers 508 meters into the sky and combines Asian tradition with visionary thinking in its 101 floors. Both the exterior and interior of the Taipei 101 are designed to follow the rules of Feng Shui to allow Qi, the energy of life, to efficiently flow into the architecture. The four colossal antique coins on the Taipei 101’s vertically tapered plinth symbolize luck and prosperity which have been recreated on the Limited Edition Axis Mundi gracefully intersecting the barrel and the end cap.
The “as you wish” symbol on the bend in the clip and the skeleton of the fountain pen promises a successful future. The unique architecture of the Taipei 101 features eight gigantic pagodas, each with eight levels, which represents the lucky number 8 twice. This influenced the design of the Limited Edition Axis Mundi to have eight ornately skeletonized elements and eight engraved rings on the cone.
The 30 small diamonds that are set on the writing instrument symbolize the dragon figures on the façade of Taipei 101, which protect the tower from invisible dangers. The nib is rhodium-plated 18k gold and has a fine engraving of the dragon, a the legendary beast from Asian mythology, and the ancient Ruyi symbol. The distinctive Montblanc star in mother-of-pearl on the top of the cap is modeled after the 660 tonne steel ball, which is positioned on the uppermost floors of Taipei 101 as a shock absorber, making this bold testimony to Asian architecture resistant to typhoons and earthquakes.
