According to a legend, Shimarisu were sprung from the slippers of the gods, left behind inadvertently during Earth's creation.

The masterful use of Raden and Togidashi-Taka-Maki-e techniques breathes life into the playful chipmunks among the colorful autumn leaves. Furthermore, the Nashiji technique adds another layer of the sophistication by enhancing this fountain pen with a golden glow.

This piece celebrates life and taking pleasure in small ordinary things that surround us every day.

The Empress Shimarisu collection is limited to 20 pens worldwide. Each pen is fitted with an exceptional 18k gold "King of Pen" nib.

The fountain pen is painted with a lustrous black urushi lacquer and its body and cap are surrounded in different small chipmunks, autumn tree leaves, and pieces of raden (blue abalone shell). The top and bottoms have sprinkled gold dust.
